The game-changer for long-haul travel comfort, My Flight Hammock, engaged the services of Yellowpanda to help launch their product to market.
The international e-commerce family business’ goal was to secure national television exposure to help drive traffic to their online store.
Consumer PR can be tricky without a solid news hook but fortunately for My Flight Hammock, we were ready to pounce on with the perfect pitch following a big national story.
Qantas had just announced the completion of the longest non-stop commercial flight from New York. The Boeing 787-9 had 49 people onboard and took 19 hours and 16 minutes to reach Sydney, covering a 16,200km route.
It was the perfect time to reach out to producers about a product designed for long-haul travel. The Today Show jumped on board and within a couple of days, My Flight Hammock Founder Jenny Cayzer (and two airline seats) we’re off to the studio for a live recording.
The segment was as success with close to 10,000 hits on the website following its debut.
We also secured the footage from the segment to maximise on the opportunity through social media. At the time of preparing this case study, the video posted to My Flight Hammocks Facebook page has reached 95,634 people with 6,208 engagements.
In addition to securing a National television appearance, Yellowpanda, in conjunction with The Right Fit, coordinated a contra gifting campaign with travel bloggers and influencers. In exchange for a My Flight Hammock, travel bloggers and influencers are currently reviewing the product and are sharing their experience with their followers.
