Smartphone owners know the pain and frustration that comes with a broken or damaged device. However, one innovative Sydney startup is taking away the stress of mobile phone repairs, recovering and restoring cherished gadgets in less than half an hour.
fix2U, Australia’s only nation-wide phone repair callout service, engaged the services of Yellowpanda PR as they wanted to grow their voice in the community and prove they are ‘taking a bite out of Apple’.
A media management strategy was devised which aimed to grow brand awareness while promoting the benefits of saving time and money and avoiding the inconvenience associated with booking in, and travelling to, repair centres.
After positioning the business as the ‘Uber Eats of iPhone repair’, Australia’s leading news site news.com.au interviewed founders Rex Scrivener and Sam Walker and wrote a piece highlighting the recent success of the business. Tech Guide also featured a story, which showcased fix2U as a viable alternative to phone repair kiosks.
Adding to the success, Yellowpanda PR crafted a shell-type press release, to be used any time a new IT professional comes on board as a Repair Hero for fix2U. The first one featured Graeme Matich who was Townsville’s first Repair Hero and featured in the Townsville Bulletin.
Yellowpanda PR also worked on an exciting national project with fix2U, which involved bringing the National Day of Unplugging to the shores of Australia in 2018.
To coincide with the launch, Yellowpanda PR engaged a social media influencer to participate in a launch at Martin Place, Sydney, where smartphone sleeping bags were distributed to those in the city, encouraging them to participate in the day.
